             As the race for the 68th Balloon Dior Award comes to an end with the Ceremony taking place at the Theatre du Chalet, Paris on the 28th of October.

       With Cristiano and Messi absent from this year's Nomination list for the first time in 22 years, marking the beginning of a new Epoch for a the world's most prolific sport.

         The Nomination list includes the likes of Erling Haaland of "Manchester City", Real Madrid sensation: "Dani Carvajal", "Jude Bellingham", French Prodigy "Kylian Mbappe" alongside Rodri, Kevin De Brruyne, Gundogan, Griezmann, Rashford, Saka alongside African Sensation, "Ademola Lookman" of Atlanta.

         Signaling the beginning of a new era, A recent leak shows that Real Madrid Prodigy and Brazilian International, "Vinicius Junior" is the winner of the 2024 Golden Ball Award. The 24 year old attacker, having enjoyed a spectacular season since rising to prominence at Flamengo and attracting the attention of Spanish Giants, "Real Madrid", Los Blancos signing him on a 6 year deal on the 20th of July, 2018. With the two time Champions League Winner agreeing a 3 year extension, with a release clause of about € 1 Billion. The 2023 - 2024 Season saw Vinicius score six times in "Los Blancos" 15th Champions League win, having also provided five key assists in the competition. 

          Not forgetting he's 15 goals in the Spanish Premier league,"La Liga" as Blancos clinched a commanding 95 points, 10 points above their closest rivals, "Barcelona". Although Brazil were knocked out at the 2024 Copa America by Uruguay in the Quarter Finals, his club achievements prove more than enough to clinch the famed Golden Ball.
